After a year of bad crops, pre-existing gluten-free supply limitations and being told their original suppliers had no product available, The client was running the risk of shutting down production therefore leaving their existing sales contracts unfulfilled. They knew they needed to find alternative options for gluten free oats outside of North America, and fast. After one phone call to Tradelink, the process moved quickly and successfully with transparency.
The Tradelink and Santé sourcing teams worked closely with the world’s largest oat growing regions outside of North America, including Australia, Chile & Scandinavia with extensive validation processes in each region. After investigating 20+ manufacturers, just two were selected and trial orders were airfreighted. During this process, Tradelink’s quality experts worked alongside personnel at the mills to clearly communicate the importance of specific testing protocols and documentation.
In just three weeks, the client went from a period of severe uncertainty to in-person mill visits with the Tradelink team in Chile, immediately followed by document exchange, sample receipt and the submittal of purchase orders. The product is now being received and utilized in a series of industry-leading gluten-free organic and conventional bars and snacks. Thanks to the Tradelink technical team & Santé’s global reach, The client now has access to an international market of quality redundant supply and is now expanding into a newly-commissioned, state-of-the-art manufacturing space.
